The honors keep coming in for senior Emily Ciesynski, as she was named All-Region in the women's 400-meter hurdles by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced May 19. This is the second All-Region award for Ciesynski, as she garnered the honor in 2018. All region honors are awarded to the top five individuals from each of eight regions in each event in addition to members of the region's top three relay teams.
Minnesota Morris senior Emily Ciesynski has qualified for the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships in two events, as announced by the NCAA Saturday, May 18. Ciesynski, a native of Blaine, qualified for the women's 400-meter hurdles and the women's 400-meter dash.
Senior Blaise Fairbanks and junior Joe Wehr were named to the First Team All-UMAC while three other Cougar baseball players were honored with postseason baseball awards as announced by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference office Tuesday, May 14.
The Minnesota Morris track and field program took part in the Eagle Open Friday, May 10, hosted by UW-La Crosse. Katherine Novak won the women's 5,000-meter run (20:48.78) and took second in the 1,500-meter run (4:50.98). Along with Novak in the 5,000-meter run, Montana Lawrence finished runner-up with her time of 20:53.04. The women's 400-meter hurdles saw Emily Ciesynski finish first with a school record time of 1:01.71.
With the conclusion of the 2019 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships, four members of the UM-Morris women's track and field program were honored with special recognition Wednesday, May 8.
Three UMN Morris tennis student-athletes were honored with postseason plaudits as announced by the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tuesday.
The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) released its 2019 softball award recipients with three Minnesota Morris student-athletes honored Monday, May 6.
The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team went 0-3 to close out the 2019 season this weekend. The Cougars dropped a doubleheader to UW-Superior Saturday, May 4 then fell in a single non-conference game to Carleton Sunday, May 5, in Morris. UMM ends the season 8-24 overall, 5-11 in the UMAC, and recognized the program’s five seniors at the finale Sunday. Those seniors are Thomas Eckstein, Blaise Fairbanks, Kyle Hastings, Levi Jahnke and Nash Kramer.
The UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships was a “whirlwind of awesomeness,” said Minnesota Morris track and field head coach Jessica Devine , after the UMM women’s track and field program captured the 2019 title Saturday, May 4, at the Cougar track in Morris. The UMM men tied for third overall. The Cougars had a combined total of 12 first-place finishes at the Championships.
The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team (8-21, 5-9 UMAC) split a doubleheader against Northwestern (21-15, 8-6 UMAC) Thursday.
