Werk lone all-conference runner

Hailey Werk was the lone all-conference runner after the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta freshman finished fifth at the West Central Conference Thursday, Oct. 8, at Sauk Centre. Werk clocked a time of 21:22.8 in the 5,000 meter race.

For the boys, Thomas Tiernan, Gavin Stallman and Matthew Giese all placed in the top 15. Tiernan was 12th in 19:32.6, Stallman 14th in 19:40.1 and Giese 15th in 19:42.1.

Benson/KMS won the boys meet while Minnewaska claimed the top three spots individually to finish first as a team. As a team, Morris/C-A finished fifth overall in both races.

The Tigers wrap up the season at the Section 6A boys race at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Tuesday, Oct. 13 while the girls race at New London-Spicer Thursday, Oct. 15.
