University of Minnesota Morris sophomore Brady Raph took home a litany of honors on Monday as the UMAC announced its all-conference teams for men’s golf. After coming from behind to win the UMAC Championship at Pebble Creek Golf Club, Raph was named the UMAC Player of the Year and was a First Team All-UMAC honoree.
Playing in eight tournaments this season, Raph, a native of Pine River, Minn., compiled a stroke average of 73.4 across 11 rounds. Included in that were five rounds under par, including the final round of the UMAC Championship.
Raph was the individual winner of the UMAC Preview, the NCU Invitational, the UMM Invite, the Viking Cup, the MLC Invitational, and a co-winner of the UNW Invitational. That set the table for the UMAC Championship where he recovered from an opening 78 to shoot even-par golf over the final 36 holes, finishing the tournament with a score of 222 (78-74-70) to end at +6 and win by a stroke over North Central University’s Ben Long.
In addition to the All-UMAC honors, the conference office also announced its annual Sportsmanship Award. Each institution in the conference has one recipient of the award and this year’s honor went to junior Jack Golla.
