Track: Cougars compete in final meet before Qualifier
A handful of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track and field athletes competed Sunday, May 13 at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open in an effort to improve their chances of qualifying for national competition.
Emily Ciesynski was right at her season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles as she clocked a 1:02.55.
Other Cougar women to compete were Molly McGrath in the long jump (15-feet, 11-inches) and triple jump (35-feet, 8 3/4-inches), Jessica Bliese in the shot put (35-feet, 9 1/4-inches), discus (111-feet), and javelin (109-feet, 10-inches), and Sierra Paske in the hammer throw (135-feet, 6-inches).
For the men, Justin Pearson had a solid showing the 100-meter dash as his time of 11.01 was good for second place. Rob Reller also competed for the Cougar men as his toss in the javelin was good for 106-feet, 7-inches.
Minnesota Morris returns to La Crosse Thursday, May 17 to compete at the UWL Qualifier.
