Tiger track teams second at LQPV/D-B Invite

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger track and field teams competed at the rescheduled Lac qui Parle Valley / Dawson-Boyd Invite Tuesday, April 26, in Madison. Both Tiger teams finished second overall. LQPV/D-B won the girls’ meet while Montevideo claimed the boys’ meet.

The Tiger girls produced six champions at the meet, including placing top two in three relays. The 4×800-meter relay finished first in 11:44.02. The Tiger 4×100-meter relay finished first in 54.15, and the 4×400-meter relay had a second-place finish with a time of 4:48.5.

Individually, Olivia Lebrija finished first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.06. She also won the high jump event with a 4-08.

Lydia Fynboh took first in the 100-meter dash in 12.55. She also won the long jump event with a distance of 15-03.25.

Hailey Werk finished in second in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:49.69. She also finished runner-up in the 3200-meter run in 12:53.45.

Alexis Motz was runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.09.

Isabel Fynboh had a time of 2:49.69 to finish second in the 800-meter run.

Tasha Koehl was second in the triple jump with a 30-11.75. She took second in the long jump with a 14-00.5.

Maddie Fehr finished second in the discus throw with a distance of 86-06.5.

The Tiger boys were led by four first-place finishes.

The 4×800-meter relay of Thomas Tiernan, Gavin Stallman, Hunter Pederson and Cole Wente finished in 9:18.81, which was good for first place.

Ethan Lebrija and Trey Hunt were a one-two punch in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 11.06 and 11.24, respectively. The duo also finished in first and second in the 200-meter dash as well in 22.92 and 23.93, respectively.

Hunt took second in the high jump event with a 5-06.5. Lebrija added a runner-up finish in the long jump with a best distance of 18-08.5.

The boys 4×100-meter relay of Lewis Nohl, Cole Wente, Hunt and Lebrija finished first in 46.34.

Blake Bruns took second in the 400-meter dash in 55.68.

Monte Fehr was runner-up in the discus event with a best distance of 122-3.5, and Evan Oberg finished second in the shot put with a 41-10.5.

The Tigers next compete at Montevideo Tuesday, May 3 before closing out the week at New London-Spicer Thursday, May 5. MACA will compete in Section True Team Tuesday, May 10, at Holdingford.
