A former University of Minnesota Morris head women's tennis coach has been named the new head coach of the Bethany Lutheran men's and women's tennis programs, a news release said. Nick Perrin will replace Jill Bailey who resigned earlier this summer. Perrin was the head women's tennis coach for the Cougars in 2015-2016.
“As a member of our athletic department for the past three years, we know the commitment Nick brings to this role with the tennis program,” said Don Westphal, Bethany's Director of Athletics. “His past experience within the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), specifically within the tennis ranks and other sports as well, are an added benefit as he moves forward with our teams.”
The women's team has qualified for the UMAC tournament three times in the past five years, while the men have qualified in five of the last six years.
“Having been a part of the BLC athletic department for a few years I'm familiar with the goals and expectations of our programs,” said Perrin. “I'm excited for the opportunity to work with a new group of student-athletes on campus.”
Perrin will continue to serve as the assistant coach for the women's golf and men's basketball programs.
