The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta/West Central Area girls tennis team was edged by Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd 4-3 Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Morris.

Katie Messner won her second straight match at No. 4 singles. No. 3 doubles Ireland Winter and Kassidy Girard also won their second straight match.

Katelyn Wehking pulled out a close three-set win. After falling in the first set 3-6, Wehking won 7-6 (4), 6-4.

"She jokingly said that she loves her long matches," head coach Britney House said of Wehking, who has gone three sets in her last three of four singles matches.

The Tigers traveled to Marshall for a tournament Saturday, Sept. 15 then to Montevideo for a match on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The Tigers close out the home season against Sauk Centre at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, in Morris.
