Every single Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta / Herman-Norcross Section 5A participant had a personal or career best at the section meet Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23 and 24 in Alexandria, head coach Anita Nelson said.

“[Personal or career bests] are exactly what we work toward all season,” Nelson said. “We don’t see the W’s in our season, but I am more excited to see [the boys] improve and be excited. They swam very well [at the section meet].”

Although no individual made the top 16 and advanced individually to Saturday’s finals, all three relays cut time from Friday to Saturday.

The 200-yard medley relay cut over five seconds from their preliminary time to their finals time. The relay team of Dalton Dierks, Joseph Goulet, Andrew Messner, and Dougherty clocked a 2:10.3 on Friday during the preliminary round while the team of Dierks, Dougherty, Messner, and Christopher Just finished in 2:05.54 in the finals on Saturday.
