Under second-year coach Coleton Anderson, the Morris Benson Area girls hockey team dropped its season opener 6-0 to Prairie Centre Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Lee Community Center in Morris.
The Storm returns to the ice with mostly underclassmen on the roster, having just two seniors and two juniors. Taryn Picht and Corrie Erdahl are the lone seniors while Allison Michaelson and Gabby Schneider are the juniors for the MBA girls team.
In net, Morris Benson has a green goalie in first-year eighth-grader Ava Breuer. She had 17 saves in the season opener against the Blue Jackets.
The Storm, 0-1, play Willmar at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Benson Civic Center in Benson. Next week, Storm opens the road season at Princeton Tuesday, Nov. 23.
