With a 4-2 loss to St. James Area Tuesday, May 28, in Marshall, the playoff run for the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta softball team comes to an end in the Section 3AA semifinals.

Trailing 1-0, Liz Dietz tied the game with an RBI double to score Riley Decker in the third inning. Morris/C-A took the lead in the fourth when Kendra Wevley scored on a wild pitch. The Saints tied the game with a run in the fifth then went ahead with two in the seventh to win.

Sophomore LaRae Kram went 2-for-3 to lead the Tigers at the plate.

The Tigers went 2-2 in the postseason, including splitting in action Saturday, May 25, in Marshall. Morris/C-A fell to Luverne 3-2 before beating Jackson County Central 10-3.

After a 20-3 2019 season, Mary Holmberg ends her 39th season as head coach with 586 wins and 257 losses.
