After Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta softball team won its sixth straight West Central Conference title this week with a four-inning win over Benson, the Tigers earned the No. 1 seed in Section 3AA-North announced Wednesday, May 15.

With one blemish on their overall 17-1 record, the Tigers will have to get past No. 2-seeded Minneota/Canby (16-2) to win the North subsection.

Pipestone is the No. 1-seed in Section 3AA-South, boasting a 10-0 section record and 17-2 overall. Pipestone is currently ranked sixth in QRF and fourth in the Minnesota Coaches Association rankings announced Thursday, May 16. Morris/C-A also received votes in the recent poll, but did not make the top 10.

The Tigers close out the regular season with a conference game at Montevideo Friday, May 17 then open Section 3AA play Tuesday, May 21. The Tigers will play the winner of No. 4 ACGC and No. 5 Minnewaska at 5:30 p.m., in Morris. Full bracket here.
