In the first two innings of Friday, May 10's non-conference game against Willmar, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta had a runner in scoring position but couldn't get a tally on the scoreboard. But finally, in the fourth and fifth innings, the Tigers were able to capitalize on a pair of Willmar miscues to get the 2-1 road win.

With bases loaded in the top of the fourth, Morris/CA tied the game when an error on a Riley Decker grounder allowed Kenzie Hockel to score.

Then in the fifth, with two outs, a passed ball gave Bailey Marty the go-ahead to score what was ultimately the game-winning run.

LaRae Kram went 2-for-3 for the Tigers while Katelyn Wehking crushed a triple in the top of the second inning.

In the circle, Kenna Kehoe got the win after going six innings with one run on five hits and no walks with one strikeout. Liz Dietz pitched one inning of relief and got the save after giving up a hit with two strikeouts.

Mackenzie Jones took the loss despite another strong outing that saw the Cardinals sophomore strike out 12 with two runs, five hits and three walks allowed over seven innings.

Six Willmar players got a hit, all singles. The Cardinals lone run came in the second when Isabelle Kienholz, pinch running for Edyn Saulsbury, crossed home on a fielder's choice.

The Tigers is now 17-1 after sweeping Sauk Centre Monday, beating Benson Tuesday and Minnewaska Thursday. They close out the week by traveling to Montevideo Friday, May 17.
