Liz Dietz hit a grand slam and drove in six runs, and she picked up the pitching victory as the Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta softball team defeated Benson 16-1 in four innings on Thursday, April 25, in Benson.

Dietz had two hits and she allowed just an unearned run on three hits in three innings.

The Tigers' Mackenzie Hockel and Carissa Oberg both had two hits and two RBIs, LaRae Kram had two hits and scored twice and Emma Bowman had two RBIs and scored twice.

Benson's Ellie Moesenthin doubled and Abby Lundebrek had a hit and drove in Benson’s lone run.

The Tigers next host their annual invitational tournament, which got pushed back to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27, in Morris. The Tigers open against St. Cloud Apollo then play Valley City in pool play.
