Rose named MVW at Grant County Invite, MAHACA finishes fourth overall

Morris Area / Hancock / Chokio-Alberta Junior Davin Rose won the 138-pound championship at the Grant County Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 11, in Barrett.

The MAHACA team was in Barrett for weigh-ins at 7 a.m. With a bye in the first round, Rose didn’t see the mat until close to noon. In his semifinal match, he took a 16-1 tech fall victory over Brien Poser of Ottertail Center in 2:00. In the championship, Rose took a sudden victory over No. 1-ranked in Class A Walker Bents, winning 5-3 with a takedown in the overtime round.

The Tigers finished fourth overall in the 11-team invite. Tyce Anderson at 106 and Caden Rose at 145 both finished runner-up in their respective weight classes.
