After a collision on the court before the match even started, the Hancock Owl volleyball team prevailed in a four-set season opener against Ashby Tuesday, Aug. 31, in Ashby.
“We had a collision before the match even started, giving one player a bloody nose and leaving another player on the ground, so it was a rough start to our night,” third-year head coach Kortney Ejnik said.
“Both were able to play so it was nothing too terrible,” Ejnik added of the pregame incident.
The Owls (1-0) next play Ortonville in their home opener Thursday, Sept. 9, in Hancock. Hancock will then travel to Dawson-Boyd Monday, Sept. 13, in Dawson.
