The Hancock Owl varsity football team routed Rothsay 38-8 Friday, Sept. 17, in Rothsay.
“Great game tonight as the Owls get the win 38-8 over Rothsay. Starters played a great first half getting up 38-0 before turning the game over to the JV for two quarters,” coach Chad Christianson tweeted out after Friday night’s game.
Owls, now 3-0, play Wheaton/Herman-Norcross for “mom’s night” Friday, Sept. 24.
Wheaton/H-N is also 3-0 after knocking off Hillcrest 60-21 Friday night. The Warriors showed off their offensive weapons in a 47-16 season opening win over Ortonville and a 44-0 shutout over Brandon-Evansville. Quarterback Zach Braaten has six passing touchdowns and almost 500 yards passing in just three games. He also has almost 150 yards on the ground as well and ran in three scores himself. His go-to target, Grant Dawson, who has 12 catches on the year for a whopping 276 yards and three scores. Dawson had 145 yards alone in the Warriors’ win over Hillcrest on Friday.
