ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Minnesota Morris juniorCody Nyewas named the UMAC Men’s Field Performer of the Week on Monday, notching his second win of the outdoor season and third overall on the year.

Competing in just one event at UW-La Crosse’s Phil Esten Challenge, Nye broke a Minnesota Morris school record in the shot put that had stood since 1989. Nye’s throw of 50-5.25 (15.37 meters) placed him fourth overall on the day and has him ranked 28th nationally in NCAA Division III in the event.

With the many changes to the schedule that have occurred already this season, Minnesota Morris has added an event to its calendar and will next compete on Wednesday afternoon at Valley City State University’s Viking Open beginning at 3 p.m.
