After trailing at halftime, Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta came back to defeat Blake 84-74 in a boys basketball matchup of two top-five ranked teams on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Breakdown Tip-Off Classic in Hopkins.
The No. 4-ranked Tigers trailed 42-41 at the break, but outscored the Bears 43-32 to claim victory over the No. 5-ranked team in Class 2A.
The Tigers shot 50 percent in the game. Jackson Loge finished with his sixth straight double double of the season with 25 points and 13 rebounds. The Augustana commit also dished out six assists.
Thomas Tiernan added 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. Durgin Decker had 12 with six rebounds. Brandon Jergenson and Cole Wente each scored 10, and Wente also dished out five assists.
The Tigers beat West Central Area on Friday, Dec. 17 and will now travel to Olivia for a West Central Conference game against BOLD Tuesday, Dec. 21. The Tigers close out the 2021 portion of the season with the Fergus Falls tournament Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 28-29, in Fergus Falls.
