Jenica Moes was All-North Region in the javelin, finishing with one of the top five throws among schools in the region.
NEW ORLEANS – University of Minnesota Morris seniorJenica Moeswas named All-North Region by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday in the women’s javelin throw.
All-Region honors are bestowed on individuals who finish among the top five in a region in each event. Moes finished with the fourth-best throw in the javelin this season in the North Region, turning in a distance of 129-7 (39.49 meters) at the Phil Esten Challenge, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in late April.
This All-Region honor caps a great final season as a Cougar for Moes. Announced as the winner of the Willis Kelly Award earlier this spring, Moes was the UMAC champion in the shot put at the Indoor Championships, then finished as the runner-up in the discus and javelin at the Outdoor Championships. Additionally, she earned UMAC Field Performer of the Week honors on four different occasions.
