The Morris Area / Hancock / Chokio-Alberta ninth grade league finished seventh at MNGWL State Dual on Saturday, Jan. 15, in Mora.
The Tigers took first place at ninth grade team sections Monday, Jan. 10, in Willmar, to advance to state as a team.
“The team is open at the first three weights, so starting down 18-zero right off the bat and to get first with that is huge,” Tiger varsity coach Kyle Rose said.
At State, the Tigers beat Fosston-Bagley 49-27 and lost to Annandale/Maple Lake by criteria, 34-33, to compete for seventh place overall where the Tigers beat Cambridge 54-30.
