The Morris Area / Hancock / Chokio-Alberta wrestling team went 2-2 on the mat last week. The Tigers added a win over New London-Spicer and Redwood Valley at the Redwood Valley quadrangular Tuesday, Jan. 11, in Redwood, and lost to United at the quad Tuesday and to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Thursday, Jan. 13, in Belgrade.
On Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Milbank Duals, No. 1-ranked Ethan Lebrija took down the school record in his first action on the mat this season. Lebrija, who came back from injury Jan. 7, took down the 156-win school record held by Tiger coach Kyle Rose and went 5-0 in his opening weekend. Lebrija added three more wins this week and sits at 163 wins in his career with over a month left of the season.
The Tigers next will wrestle at the BOLD quadrangular against BOLD, Kimball and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Olivia. Next week, MAHACA hosts a triangular Friday, Jan. 28 against Marshall and Minneota, in Morris, before traveling to Fairmont for a triangular Saturday, Jan. 29. Full story here.
