ST. PAUL, Minn.– University of Minnesota Morris seniorJustin Robinsonwas the winner of the UMAC Field Performer of the Week award for men’s track & field on Monday after scoring in three events for the Cougars on Saturday at the CSB/SJU Triangular.
All told, Robinson compiled 11 points for Minnesota Morris with his finishes in the long jump, shot put, and weight throw. His best finish was in the shot put where he took third place with a best effort of 45-5.75 (13.86 meters). Teammate Cody Nye was the winner of the event.
In the weight throw, Robinson unfurled a distance of 48-3.50 (14.72 meters) to finish in fourth place behind a trio of throwers from Saint John’s University. Robinson’s distance represents the best throw in the UMAC so far this season.
Robinson added an eighth-place finish in the long jump, leaping 17-4.25 (5.29 meters).
Minnesota Morris is back in action on Feb. 5 at Bethel University, taking part in the Gene Glader Classic beginning at 10 a.m.
