The University of Minnesota Morris women’s cross country team finished in third place at the St. Boni Invite on Friday, hosted by Crown College. The Cougars had 55 points and placed ahead of Crown and Northland College in the race.
Briahna Hensel finished the 6k course in a time of 24:12.39, the second-best time ever for a Cougar runner at Crown. In all, five of the 10 runners on the course for Minnesota Morris finished among the fifteen best times ever for a Cougar on the course.
Behind Hensel for Minnesota Morris was Kaitlyn Ladwig in ninth place with a time of 25:21.44, totaling eight points for the Cougar score. Ilsa and Zoe Hoaglund were shortly behind with Ilsa finishing in 25:57.23 for a 13th-place finish (12 points) and Zoe clocking a 26:05.07 to take 15th (14 points).
Chloe Haven was the fifth scorer for Minnesota Morris as she ran a 28:27.48 and ended in 24th place (20 points). McKenna Langerud was 25th overall in 28:52.07 (21 points) and Miriam Anderson was 32nd overall in 30:33.85 (23 points) to push the opposition score higher.
The Cougars are next in action on Oct. 30 at the UMAC Championships, hosted by UW-Superior at 1 p.m.
