Junior Hannah Zimmel is the lone Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta golfer to advance to day two of the Section 3AA meet after carding a 91 round on Wednesday, May 22, at Oakdale Golf Course in Buffalo Lake. The score put her in a tie for 17th overall. She was set to tee of Tuesday, May 28 for day two of the section meet, at Oakdale in Buffalo Lake.

The Morris/C-A girls pulled out of the meet as a team Tuesday evening, said the Section 3AA golf site manager David Madson in an email to the Stevens County Times.

The Tiger boys did not have anyone advance to day two of the section meet.

“We struggled from the get go. I think nerves got to the guys, and they put too much pressure on themselves,” Morris/C-A boys coach Joey Fragodt said. “I really thought that we had some good chances for guys to go to day two, but that didn't happen. I believe the cut line was 90, and that's unusually high.”

Dalton Koehler and Easton Hacker were the lowest scorers for Morris/C-A. Both carded a 93. Brock Peterson and Tyler Buss were right behind with 94. Brady Loge and Eli Grove both carded a 99.

“The guys had an up and down season, and we struggled to find some consistency. We will return our entire team next season, and I will look for the guys to golf a lot this summer to improve,” Fragodt said.

The Tiger girls graduate four: Mackenzie Stahman, Miranda Hesse, Peyton Hennen and Shayla Kill.
