Minnesota Morris Director of Golf Jana Koehler announces the additions of Mike Weatherly and Josh Lang to the coaching staff.

"I am excited to have both Mike Weatherly and Josh Lang as assistant golf coaches for both the men's and women's programs," said Koehler. "Their prior golf teaching experiences will be very beneficial as both teams compete this fall. Our goal is to work with every student-athlete and improve their performance on the course leading up to the UMAC Championship in October."

Weatherly is a 1992 UMM graduate. The Elbow Lake resident has years of experience as a golf professional at various golf courses throughout Minnesota. His experiences include: head golf professional/manager at The Crossings at Montevideo, first assistant golf professional at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, assistant golf professional at Elm Creek Golf Course in Plymouth, and assistant golf professional at Minnewaska Golf Club in Glenwood. He also was a PGA apprentice golf professional in 2003.

"I am excited to join the Cougar golf program and looking forward to being a part of its success," said Weatherly.

Lang, who resides in Ashby, is a 2005 graduate of St. Scholastica. He brings a wealth of golf experience to the Cougar golf program. He started his own golf academy (Josh Lang Golf Academy) where he created four junior golf camps with over 120 students. He has head and assistant golf professional experiences at: Enger Park Golf Course and Lester Park Golf Course in Duluth, Atikwa Golf Club in Alexandria and served as an assistant golf coach at Hermantown High School.

"Golf is a glorious game and I'm grateful for the opportunity to work with the coaches and teams at UMM with hopes of passing on a lifelong love for the sport and the ideals of respect, honor, and integrity that come with playing the right way," said Lang.
