The Morris / Minnewaska girls swim and dive team dropped a close dual to Melrose Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Melrose.
The Gators had just three first-place finishes in the meet, and senior Audrey Dorweiler had two of them. She finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.4 and first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.06. Shannon Dougherty topped the field in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.46. She was also second, behind Dorweiler, in the 50-yard freestyle race.

Claire Barnstuble was runner-up in diving with 156.1 points, and Makena Thoen also finished second individually with a 1:22.45 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
The Gators next compete against Holdingford Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Minnewaska. Next week, the Gators host Sauk Centre Tuesday, Sept. 28, in Morris.
