Carrington drops 24 to lead Tiger girls to season opening win

Senior Meredith Carrington netted 24 points for the Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta girls basketball team in a 50-43 season opening victory over Breckenridge Tuesday, Nov. 30, in Morris.

Carrington hit 10-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-4 from three-point-range to lead the Tigers, who shot 43 percent as a team. Maddy Grove added 10 points while Cate Kehoe and Sydney Dietz added six each. Kehoe grabbed six rebounds and collected four steals while Dietz dished out five assists in the win.

The Tigers, 1-0, played Osakis Friday, Dec. 3 and will next play New London-Spicer Tuesday, Dec. 7, in Morris. MACA will travel to Willmar for a non-conference game Thursday, Dec. 9 and then play Melrose Friday, Dec. 10, in Melrose to end a busy week of games.
