Mens Basketball: Former UM-Morris coach Ford dies

Former University of Minnesota Morris men’s basketball coach Perry Ford died on Thursday, Feb. 28. Ford is the second-winningest coach in UMM men’s basketball history. He coached the UMM men’s basketball team for 10 seasons from 1985 to 1995. He held the most wins in program history (196) until current UMM men’s coach Paul Grove surpassed him in the 2016-2017 season.

Ford left Morris for then Southwest State University in Marshall and also coached at Augustana in Sioux Falls.

A celebration of life for Perry Ford is scheduled during the Final Four from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Edinburgh USA Golf Clubhouse in Brooklyn Park.
