Boys Basketball: Johnson, Morris/C-A close out season with win
In a game that saw 50 percent shooting from the home team, the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger boys basketball team closed out the regular season with a convincing 67-38 win over Paynesville Friday, Feb. 22, in Morris.
Senior Jaret Johnson had 23 points on 11-for-13 shooting to lead the Tigers. He was a perfect 10-for-10 within two-point range and also grabbed eight rebounds.
Freshman Jackson Loge had his 12th double-double performance of the season as he finished with 16 points (6-for-10) and 10 rebounds against Paynesville.
All five Tiger starters shot 60 percent or higher in the win. Camden Arndt scored 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting, Jaden Maanum was 2-for-3 for four points, and Joseph Kleinwolterink was 3-for-4 for six points.
The Tigers close out the regular season 16-8 overall and earned the No. 3-seed in the Section 3AA-North. They are scheduled to host No. 6 ACGC at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Morris.
