Boys Basketball: Morris/C-A earns third seed in 3AA-North

The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger boys basketball team took the No. 3 seed in the Section 3AA-North playoff tournament, which is scheduled to get underway Saturday, March 2. The Tigers will play host to #6 ACGC (4-6 in 3AA, 10-14) at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Morris. The Tigers went 7-3 in section games this season and ended the regular season with a 16-8 overall record with a win over Paynesville Friday.

New London-Spicer (5-2 in 3AA, 18-7) earned the top-seed in the North subsection. Morris/C-A lost to the Wildcats by eight points, without senior Camden Arndt, who missed the NLS game and the Sauk Centre game to play in the all-star football showcase in December. NLS is the highest ranked team in the entire section with a QRF rank of 13.

Minnewaska (9-2 in 3AA, 16-8) claimed the No. 2 spot in the Section 3AA-North. The Tigers split with the Lakers in the regular season, losing 49-37 back on Dec. 20, in Glenwood, and beating them 59-27 on Feb. 5, in Morris.
