Girls Basketball: Mainstreeters hand Morris/C-A its third straight "L"

Sauk Centre shot the lights out Tuesday, Feb. 5 to earn a West Central Conference win against Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, 80-42, in Sauk Centre.

The Mainstreeters knocked down 11 of their 18 3-point efforts on the way to their 80-point night against the Tigers.

No Tiger reached double figures in the game as they finished just 27.8 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe. Morris/C-A was led by Maddie Carrington, who finished with nine points on 3-for-9 shooting. Emma Bowman finished with eight points on for 2-for-8 shooting, missing all four of her attempts inside and connecting on 2-for-4 from three-point range. Malory Anderson finished with seven points on 3-for-10 shooting.

The Tigers, now 10-8 overall and 4-5 in the West Central Conference, are the losers of three straight and look to rebound next week with two conference games. Morris/C-A is at Melrose (7-12, 4-6 WCC) Tuesday, Feb. 12 and at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (3-16, 2-9 WCC) Thursday, Feb. 14 before closing out the week at Osakis (3-16) Friday, Feb. 15.
