Jaret Johnson dropped 23 points and the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger boys basketball team provided plenty of strong defense in a big West Central Conference win against Minnewaska, 59-27, Tuesday, Feb. 5, in Morris. The Tigers have won four straight games while the Lakers had their three-game win streak snapped by Morris/C-A on Tuesday.

The Tigers jumped out to a 21-7 lead and held the Lakers to 27 for the win. Johnson was 10-for-16 from the floor, including 3-for-6 from deep in the game.

Camden Arndt added 13 points and Jackson Loge had 10 for the Tigers.

Shawn Carsten had 10 points to lead the Lakers. He also grabbed eight rebounds.

The Lakers, now 12-7 overall and 7-4 in the conference, play host to Benson Friday, Feb. 8 before traveling to the Fargo Civic Center to take on Breckenridge Saturday, Feb. 9, in Fargo.

The Tigers, now 10-7 overall and 6-5 in the conference, play host to Melrose Friday, Feb. 8 before playing Hancock at 11:47 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the University of Minnesota Morris in Morris.
