Senior Bennett Nienhaus recorded a double-double to lead the Hancock Owls past the hot-handed Benson Braves 67-54 in non-conference boys basketball action Monday, Jan. 14, in Benson.

Nienhaus dropped 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Daniel Milander added 13 points and Connor Reese finished with 11 to fend off the Braves, who shot 65 percent on the night.

The Braves were led by Will Enderson, who finished with a game-high 23 points. Cole Hedman added 16 in the losing effort.

The Owls next play host to Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley for a Pheasant Conference game at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in Hancock then travel to Central Minnesota Christian School for a girls/boys doubleheader at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in Prinsburg.
