Basketball: Douglas earns NABC All-West First Team nod
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Year, CD Douglas, received another honor Monday, March 12 as he was a National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-West District First Team selection.
Players from three other Minnesota institutions join Douglas on the All-West team: Collin Olmscheid (Augsburg), Tyler Weiss (Saint John's), and Kevin Grow (Carleton).
Douglas rewrote the Cougar record books during his four-year tenure at Minnesota Morris. He ranks first all-time in points (1960), first in free throws made (478), second in assists (455), second in field goals made (721), and third in rebounds (538). This season he led the UMAC in scoring (22.2/game) and steals (46), and free throw percentage (90.0), and was second in assists (4.0/game) and field goal percentage (54.2).
Minnesota Morris finished 2017-18 with a 12-15 overall record and 9-7 mark in the UMAC. After defeating Crown in the UMAC quarterfinals, they fell to Bethany Lutheran in the semifinals.
