Baseball: Late run gives Osakis edge over Morris

A run in the fifth inning broke a 3-3 tie and was enough for Osakis to squeak out a victory over Morris legion baseball Thursday, June 13, in Osakis.

Morris scored first with three runs in the second inning. A bases loaded walk scored Cade Fehr for the first run of the game, then Colten Scheldorf scored on a throw to second after a fielder's choice groundout. Morris made it 3-0 after a ground out by Austin Berlinger scored Jack Riley.

Kevin Asfeld was 3-for-3 in the game to lead Morris at the plate. Fehr was tagged with the loss on the mound, giving up the game-winning run in the fifth inning. He walked two and struck out three in the final three innings of the game.

Morris plays host to Willmar at 7 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Chizek Field in Morris then Monday, June 17, Glenwood comes to town for a 7 p.m. first pitch.
