The Hancock Owl baseball team had three players named all-conference and three more named honorable mention announced by the Pheasant Conference Monday, June 11. Junior Gideon Joos, sophomore Preston Rohloff and senior Tanner Pahl were all named all-conference while sophomore Kody Berget, junior Colton Crowell and senior Montana Molden earned honorable mention status.

Joos finished the conference season with 10 hits, five RBIs and five runs scored while averaging .313 and getting on base 43.6 percent of the time. In 2019, he had 17 hits (second most on the team), with seven RBIs and 10 runs scored while averaging .436. He also threw two innings this spring and had four strikeouts.

Rohloff, also one of the Owls’ pitchers, threw 18.2 innings this season with one win and 33 strikeouts this season. Offensively, Rohloff had a .313 with a .353 on base percentage during conference play. In 2019, he hit .342 with a .390 on base percentage with 13 hits and five RBIs.

Pahl was second in conference hits this season, tallying 13, which included a team-high five doubles and the only home run hit for Hancock this year. In 2019, he had 15 hits, eight RBIs and seven runs scored while averaging .429 at the plate. His .697 slugger percentage was highest on the team.

Pahl was also a part of the pitching rotation for the Owls. In conference play, he had the second-lowest ERA of all seven pitchers that threw this season with 1.647. He tallied four wins and struck out 27 batters during conference play on the mound. His 34 strikeouts this season was a tie with Berget for most on the team.

The Owls were tied with West Central Area for fourth in the Pheasant Conference with a 6-6 conference record. They finished the 2019 season 10-9 overall. Four of the six honorees return to the team in the spring of 2020.
