West Central Area’s Teigen Mortiz scattered three hits over a little over six scoreless innings and added two RBIs on two hits to lead the Knights past the Hancock baseball team 5-0 Thursday, May 16, in Hancock.

The Knights held a 1-0 lead after one before pulling away with four runs in the fourth.

Preston Rohloff kept the Owls close, giving up two runs on three hits in six innings. He walked four and struck out nine before being tagged with the loss.

Owl senior Tanner Pahl went 2-for-3 with two doubles in the loss.

The Owls, now 9-6 on the season, play host to Ortonville Monday, May 20 before closing out the regular season against Border West Thursday, May 23. Both games slated for 5 p.m., in Hancock.
