The Morris Eagles earned the top-seed coming out of the Region 9C after beating Dumont in a second and winner-take-all game Sunday, Aug. 11, in Rosen.

Morris fell 5-1 in the first game of the Region 9C title. Since it was the Eagles' first loss of the Region 9C playoffs, a second winner-take-all game was to decide the true champion. Morris won 4-2.

Morris opens the state tournament against the winner of Stark and Watkins at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, in Delano.

Dumont will open tournament play against Bird Island at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in Maple Lake.

Clinton 4, Chokio 3

Clinton came back to eliminate Chokio 4-3 Saturday, Aug. 10, in Rosen.

Alex Erickson had a solo home run in the fourth to extend the Coyotes lead to 3-0. A three-run home run by Clinton erased the deficit in the sixth inning, tying the game at 3-3.

Clinton was eliminated by Dumont by a score of 8-2 Saturday evening.
