Baseball: Knights hand Hancock its first loss

Gavin Paulson’s two-run single in the fourth inning gave West Central Area the insurance runs it needed in a 5-1 win over the Hancock baseball team Tuesday, April 23, in Barrett.

Peyton Rohloff broke up the Knights shutout with a RBI hit in the sixth to score Brayden DeSmith.

The Owls travel to Ortonville Thursday, April 25 then participate in the MACA Invite hosted by the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27, in Morris. The tournament has been changed due to the rain forecasted for Saturday. Hancock will play Silver Bay at 4 p.m. Friday and Pelican Rapids at 6 p.m. Friday. Both games will be at the Babe Ruth field at Eagles Park in Morris. On Saturday, weather permitting, the Owls will play Morris/C-A at noon, at Chizek Field.
