Legion Baseball: Vogel, Morris sweeps Post 29 series
Morris’ Chandler Vogel threw a one-hitter en route to a 10-0 win over Hancock in Legion baseball action Tuesday, July 10, in Morris. With the win, Morris takes the series sweep after beating Hancock 11-3 June 28, in Hancock.
Vogel had six strikeouts in five innings, which aided a powerful Morris offense that had 10 hits in the game. Joe Kleinwolterink went 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored. Tyler Reimers and Parker Dierks had two hits each.
Hancock's lone hit came from Gideon Joos' bunt single in the first inning.
Morris, now 6-6 on the season, travels to Wheaton Thursday, July 12. Hancock will wrap up the regular season against Glenwood/Lowry at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, in Hancock. Morris plays Glenwood/Lowry Monday, July 16, in Glenwood and Brandon-Evansville/West Central Area Tuesday, July 17, in Barrett to wrap up the regular season. District 7 playoffs begin Friday, July 20.
