Hunter helped beat the Hunters on Monday night.

Hermantown senior forward Hunter Tanski scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Hawks clinched the Lake Superior Conference high school boys soccer title with a 6-1 victory over Duluth Denfeld at Public Schools Stadium.

Tanski opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, then broke a 1-1 tie with a goal less than two minutes into the second half.

The Hawks (12-3-1 overall, 8-2 LSC) added four more goals, including a Sam Mesedahl penalty kick, to likely secure a top-two seed in this week’s Section 7A playoffs. Those pairings will be announced today.

Denfeld ended the regular season 9-6-1 and 5-2.
