The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta trapshooting team participated in the Class 3A Minnesota Trapshooting Championships Wednesday, May 12, in Alexandria.
MACA took 22nd out of 33 schools competing in the varsity division. Brady Cardwell led the Tiger shooters, hitting 93-out-of-100 targets and finishing in a tie for 33rd overall. Tristan Raths was right behind Cardwell at 92 hits. Dalton Schmidt (88), Grady Erickson (85), Jordan Moser (80), and Hunter Vogt (80) rounded out the varsity shooters for MACA.
MACA took eighth in the junior varsity division out of 30 schools. Carter Deneui led the way for the Tigers. He finished in a tie for sixth after hitting 88-out-of-100 targets. Evan Oberg (82), Ross Marty (79), Derek Giese (77), Chandler Wilts (77), Dalton Koehler (76), Jacob Ulrich (73), Maddix Erickson (66), and Shyler Buntje (59) rounded out the MACA team within the JV division scoring.
Evan Wilts was the lone shooting competing for MACA in the novice division. He hit 70 targets on the day.
