The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tiger boys and girls golf teams wrapped up the West Central Conference play at Benson and Montevideo Thursday, May 16. Brock Peterson and Hannah Zimmel were both all-conference honorees announced after the meets. Peterson finished eighth for the boys while Zimmel finished seventh overall on the girls side.

Both Tiger teams finished in third place. Minnewaska won both the girls and boys conference titles.

For the boys, Dalton Koehler finished the conference season in the top 20 at 17th and Tyler Buss, Brady Loge and Eli Grove all finished in the top 25. The boys also participated in the non-conference Benson Invite Wednesday, May 15.

For the girls, senior Peyton Hennen finished 15th overall in the conferene, just missing an all-conference honor by two places. Top 13 golfers were named all-conference this season. The Morris/C-A girls participated in the Brainerd Classic Wednesday, May 15.

The Tigers now prepare for Section 3AA meet. The girls participate in day one of section play on May 22, and the boys open section play May 23. Both meets will be held at Oakdale Golf Course in Buffalo Lake. May 28 is the second day of sections for those who qualify.

Brainerd Classic

Morris/C-A girls finished 13th at the 15-team Brainerd Classic Wednesday, May 15, at Madden's on Gull Lake.

The Tigers were led by Hannah Zimmel, who carded a 93 and finished in a tie for 19th overall.

The Morris/C-A boys golf team finished eighth overall at the 11-team invite Wednesday, May 15, in Benson.

Brock Peterson was the lone golfer to finish under 100 for the Tigers, carding a 93 in the 18-hole round.

The Morris/C-A boys golf team placed first for the first time this season at the conference meet Thursday, May 16, in Benson.

Morris/C-A had three boys in the top 10 to pace the way for its top spot as a team. Brady Loge, who was playing in one shoe and one sandal due to getting stitches over the weekend, tied for third after carding a team-low 41. Dalton Koehler finished in a tie for seventh with a 42, and Brock Peterson carded a 44 to finish in a tie for ninth at Benson.

The Tiger girls team finished fourth at the Benson meet. Hannah Zimmel finished in a tie for ninth with a 43. Peyton Hennen made the top 15, finishing 14th with a 46.

Eli Grove led the boys team, carding a 44. It was good enough for a tie for 13th place.

Mackenzie Stahman and Hannah Zimmel finished in a tie for 12th to lead the Tiger girls. Both carded a 46.
