Rylee Hanson had a day to remember Thursday, May 16, in Hancock’s regular season finale. She homered twice on three hits and drove in six runs as Hancock rolled out 17 runs to defeat Ortonville 17-7.

The Owls jumped out to a 7-2 lead after two innings and never looked back, scoring at least two runs in each inning after for their seventh win of the season.

Nadine Miller drove in three runs, scored twice and finished with four hits while teammate Carlee Hanson also added a home run and earned the win in the pitcher’s circle. Tori Pahl also had three hits while Haley Mattson and Alexa Meierding finished with two apiece and each scored three times.

The Section 6A tournament gets seeded Saturday, May 18 with the first round being scheduled for Tuesday, May 21. The Owls are currently sixth in Section 6A-South. If all remains the same, they will travel to No. 3 Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley at 5 p.m Tuesday. Official seedings will be posted when they are released on Saturday.
