After it defeated North Central two weeks ago, the University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team continued to roll, posting a 9-0 victory over Crown Thursday, March 28, in Lakeville. With the win, the Cougars improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play while Crown falls to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in UMAC play.

In singles play, Maddie Johnson picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Lauren Sporleder at the No. 1 spot and Kate Obright tallied a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Sierra Allison at the No. 2 spot.

Sam Tate topped Abby Engrav 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles, Hannah Godzala defeated Nahomie Konzi 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and Katie Auger posted a 6-0, 6-0 win against Marina Ortiz at No. 5 singles play. Megan Tschida rounded out singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Abby Yates.

In doubles play, Johnson/Obright topped Sporleder/Allison 8-0 at the No. 1 spot, Tate/Godzala defeated Engrav/Konzi 8-1 at the No. 2 spot and Auger/Tschida bested Yates/Ortiz 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.

The Cougars are next scheduled to take on Wisconsin-Superior at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, in Morris.
