Second-seeded West Central Area jumped on seventh-seeded Hancock early with a 46-21 halftime lead as the Knights ended the Owls' girls basketball season with an 86-53 win in the Section 6A playoffs on Thursday, Feb. 28, in Barrett.

WCA's Lexi Bright hit six 3-pointers and led all scorers with 34 points. The Knights connected on 41.6 percent of their shots from 3-point range (10-of-24). WCA shot 52.7 percent overall compared to the Owls, who finished around 33 percent from the floor and 0-for-7 from deep.

The Owls did win the rebounding battle 41-30.

Rylee Hanson was the top scorer for Hancock with 14 points while Carlee Hanson finished with a double-double, her third of the season, with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Owls end the season 12-12 and graduate two off their roster this spring: Haley Mattson and Taylor Wilson.
