The Morris Area/Hancock/Chokio-Alberta gymnastics competed in the West Central Conference meet Friday, Feb. 8, in Melrose. The host Dutchmen took first place while the Tigers finished in third.

“There have been a lot of challenges the past couple of weeks due to the weather and boiler issues at the high school. Practice was the biggest challenge, and this season will be one for the memory book with the amount of cancelled practices,” Tiger head coach Trent Oberg said.

Despite the amount of cancelled practices, the Tigers had a good showing at the conference meet, including three stuck beam routines, Oberg said.

Callie Snell performed one of the stuck routines and improved her personal best on the beam with a score of 8.1, good for sixth overall at the conference meet. She also set a new personal best all around score by breaking the 30-point threshold for the first time.

“It was a nice accomplishment for her,” Oberg said.

Olivia Lebrija earned all-conference status for the Tigers.

The Tigers close out the season at the Section 8A meet Saturday, Feb. 16, in Perham.
