The Morris Area / Chokio-Alberta Tiger football team held its year-end banquet recently and the program recognized several individuals for their performance this season.
The Tigers went 4-3 in Mid-State Sub 2 District and finished fourth overall with five individuals earning recognition: Camden Arndt, Joseph Kleinwolterink, Brady Cardwell, Jaret Johnson and Matt McNeill.
Arndt earned back-to-back District Running Back of the Year. He finished the 2018 season with 1,226 yards in 152 carries and 10 rushing touchdowns, averaging 8.1 yards per carry and 122.6 yards per game on the ground. He also had 259 receiving yards on 13 catches, four receiving touchdowns and one passing touchdown this season. Also garnering all-district honors, Arndt finished the year with three sacks, 47 tackles, six tackles for loss and two forced fumbles defensively.
Kleinwolterink and Cardwell also earned all-district honors. Kleinwolterink finished the season with 68 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries. Cardwell finished the season with 80 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, three sacks, and a fumble recovery.
Johnson and McNeill both earned all-district honorable mention. Johnson tallied 125 yards receiving this season. McNeill finished his senior season with 376 rushing yards and six touchdowns.
Kenny Soderberg, Jack Riley, Durgin Decker and Yellow were named to the all-section team for their play against Osakis in the regular season and during playoffs.
