A trio of Cougars received All- Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) nods Thursday, Nov. 15. Defensive Lineman Nathan Gehlen, Linebacker Marcos Luna and Punter Drew Shipley represent Minnesota Morris on the squad with Gehlen earning the lone First Team honor.

A senior from Woodbury, Minn., Gehlen led the team in three defensive categories, recording five blocked kicks, 15.5 tackles for loss and six sacks. His five blocked kicks also were best in the country. Gehlen will leave the program as the school's All-Time leader in blocked kicks (6) and tackles for loss (43.5).

A junior from Minneapolis, Luna tallied 73 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and was second on the team in sacks with 3.5 to earn a nod as a Second Team linebacker. He also led the team in both forced fumbles and fumbles recovered with four.

Although he missed the final game of the season due to injury, Shipley had another big year kicking the football, earning his second nod to the All-Conference team as a special teams ace. He finished third in the conference with a 37.4 average and was tied for third with 11 punts inside the 20. Shipley also finished third in punts over 50 yards with five. He had a long of 62 this season and was also a UMAC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the season opener against UW-River Falls.
