The Minnesota Morris women's and men’s cross country teams closed out the 2018 seasons by running in the NCAA central regionals Saturday, Nov. 10, hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.
The UMM women placed second among UMAC teams coming in 21st place. UMAC Individual champion Katherine Novak had the top Cougar time over the six-kilometer course with a time of 23:54.9.
Rounding out the top five for the Cougars were Paige Stearns (24:40.9), Kaitlyn Ladwig (25:03.2), Brittney Jonson (25:51.9), and Alexa Yeager (25:58.5).
The Cougar men placed third among UMAC teams with a 22nd place finish overall.
Tyler Sassenberg had the top time for the Cougars with a time of 26:31.8 over the eight-kilometer course.
Rounding out the top five for the Cougars were Ryan Anderson (27:10.3), Benjamin Barnack (27:41.1), Raymond Abraham (27:50.8), and Gabriel Davila (28:08.9).
The indoor track and field season starts Nov. 30 at the South Dakota State Holiday Open and Multi in Brookings.
